The reason @KornGoThailand’s political career never reached the top even in the talentless Democrat Party is because he is notoriously crooked and has been involved in significant corruption in the past, including via a luxury car importation business. 1/9
For people like Suthep Thaugsuban, everybody knows they are crooks but their supporters don’t care and some even praise it, as showing they were smart at ‘playing the game’ 2/9
But for @KornGoThailand it was different because he created an image of being a modern corruption-free Thai leader, and it was all based on lies. 3/9
Thaksin Shinawatra knew about @KornGoThailand’s
shenanigans and hired private investigation agencies to create a
dossier on all his misdeeds. I have direct knowledge of this because in
2012 several corporate intelligence firms approached me separately to
investigate Korn. 4/9
I declined the job offers, because it was a conflict of interest with my
journalistic work, but it was clear Thaksin was spending a lot of money
to hire people to dig up the dirt on Korn. And there was plenty of dirt
to be dug up. So I am sure others did it. 5/9
At this stage @KornGoThailand
still wanted to lead the Democrat Party, but Thaksin had information
that could destroy him. So Korn went to Hong Kong in 2013 to try to
negotiate, and was seen by some journalists waiting to meet Thaksin at
his hotel. 6/9
Korn’s allies denied he ever went to Hong Kong to beg Thaksin to not destroy his reputation, but they were lying 7/9
So @KornGoThailand
is a doomed figure in Thai politics. He has no credibility, and there
is a dossier on his crimes that can be leaked any time by Thaksin. I
don’t know what he plans to achieve with his latest scheme but knowing
Korn, I predict it will be another disaster 8/9
The guy is not the smartest in the room, to put it politely. And I
haven’t even discussed his wife yet, which is a story for another day...
