She was allowed to keep her title of princess, but lost her patronage.
Several organizations did not even want Princess Märtha Louise as royal patron after Durek Verret's many fabrications.
Now the crown prince couple Haakon and Mette-Marit take over instead.
Princess Märtha Louise's relationship with the controversial shaman Durek Werrett has time and again created uproar in Norway.
He has claimed that leukemia is due to a bad balance in the blood, that spirits can give people venereal diseases and - most recently - it was about a locket, which the shaman Durek claimed helped him recover from covid - a locket that he himself sells on his website for 2,000 kroner.
This led last autumn to two of the organizations that Princess Märtha Louise was a patron of, the Epilepsy Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, choosing to end their collaboration with her.
- The princess has always taken her responsibility as patron seriously and shown a genuine interest in what we are working on, but more and more members are reacting to Durek Verret's speculative outbursts about her own form of alternative medicine and abilities as a shaman, said Patricia Melsom, president in the association for muscle disease in a statement then.
Put the foot down
And in November of last year, Norwegian King Harald put his foot down - now it was enough of madness.
With the engagement of Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verret last summer, the American shaman came one step closer to the royal house and the situation became urgent.
King Harald gave clear information about what would apply from now on:
Princess Märtha Louise is no longer allowed to represent the Norwegian royal house - and she had to renounce her royal patronage for the organizations she had under her wing.
Now it is clear that the crown prince couple will instead take over Märtha Louise's patronage, writes Norwegian VG.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit takes over the Norwegian Rheumatism Association and Vivil-lekene, a sports event for the disabled.
