Analysis: Trump is losing control of the narrative
With the indictment against Donald Trump, the offensive ex-president is facing a legal system he cannot control, writes Stephen Collinson in an analysis for CNN.
The strain the legal process places on his finances and calendar, in the midst of attempts to be re-elected, may also affect Trump's ability to control the media narrative around his person as usual.
"If anyone knows how to thrive in a media circus, it's Trump. The difference this time may be that he is afraid of becoming part of a media circus he cannot control.”
In an analysis for Sky News, Harry Stevens speculates on what goes through Trump's head before the indictment.
The ex-president may be worried about his political future or that the protection his wealth and political standing once afforded him is now being eroded.
"However, it seems just as likely, in a political landscape shaped in his image, that he seeks reassurance in the old tried and true motto that there is no such thing as bad publicity."

Right now: Trump supporters make noise - Marjorie Taylor Greene abducted
At 20:15 this evening, former US President Donald Trump will have his charges, which relate to the scandal surrounding former porn star Stormy Daniels, read out.
Outside the courthouse in Manhattan, things have started to get rowdy, according to American media. Whistles have been handed out and NBC is reporting that Trump supporters wanted to drown out a speech by Trump loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene. However, Taylor Greene was escorted away by police before she could speak.
However, the New York Times describes the situation as "mostly peaceful".
Trump has requested that the prosecution be moved to the borough of Staten Island as he believes that Manhattan is too liberal to give him a fair trial.
“Very unfair place, in some areas only 1 percent voted Republican. This should be moved to nearby Staten Island," Trump writes in capital letters on his social network Truth Social.
