The Nord Stream leak
Task: Germany can increase gas imports - fears attacks

Germany is considering at least doubling the country's capacity to import liquefied natural gas, LNG, writes Bloomberg.

An increased capacity on the German island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea is a preventive measure due to the risk of the important pipeline from Norway being exposed to sabotage. According to sources, Chancellor Olaf Scholz sees a new attack as a real possibility after the blown Nord Stream pipelines, writes the news agency.

This would mean a threat to Germany's energy supply as Norway accounts for a third of the country's gas consumption.
