The king's new tree has been cut dow

On Thursday, the king planted a tree in Uppsala. 

Barely a day later, it was cut down. 

- It was very sad to hear, says Margareta Thorgren, the royal house's information manager, to UNT. 

Yesterday, the king planted a tree at Uppsala Castle.  

Now someone has chopped it down, reports P4 Uppland.

- It was very sad to hear. Tree planting has a strong symbolic value and gives hope for the future, says Margareta Thorgren, information manager at the royal house to UNT.  

The king will be informed of the incident. 

It is unclear who is behind the sabotage.
