King Charles III
Flowers, leaves and a green old man.
This is not just any postcard,
it is an exclusive invitation with many hidden messages.
2,000 specially invited guests have received the coveted invitation to King Charles' coronation.
This is the meaning of the symbols.
On May 6, guests from all over the world line up in Westminster Abbey to see Charles crowned king.
The paintings on the invitation are done by Andrew Jamieson and in the corners the cards are decorated with the coats of arms of King Charles and Queen Camilla. The invitation is hand-painted with watercolor and gouache and printed on recycled paper with details in gold.
The card is full of symbolism. The old man at the bottom center is the Green Man, a central figure in British mythology.
He symbolizes spring and rebirth. Around him are beautiful flowers, such as Queen Elizabeth's favorite lily of the valley. The rosemary sprigs are also about her, they are used as a symbol for someone who has passed away.

A tribute to the country's new princess
The cornflower symbolizes hope and the bell hyacinths gratitude. All the flowers of the kingdom are also there of course, such as the thistle of Scotland, daffodils for Wales, clover for Northern Ireland and the rose for England.
The king's love for nature and the environment reminds the butterfly and various bees.
But here there is also a powerful lion in the middle of all the sweet flowers, it symbolizes the courage and strength of England and is also found on the royal coat of arms.
That the wild boar got a place on the invitation card comes from Camilla's coat of arms and in turn comes from her father.
Many of the flowers appear in groups of three, a nod to Charles becoming the third king of the same name.
