Donald Trump has been "shocked" and "annoyed" by the indictment, according to sources to the Washington Post.
But now it is planned how he will take advantage of the resurrection and surrender on Tuesday.
- He will make a Trump. He's going to show up and he's going to be upset, says former adviser David Urban.
Just hours after the jury in New York decided to indict Donald Trump, as the first ex-president in the history of the United States, he gathered with his closest advisers on the porch of his home in Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Trump is said to oscillate between hope and despair, according to sources close to him that the Washington Post spoke to. They describe him as "annoyed", "upset" and "shocked".

The indictment concerns porn star Stormy Daniels and the money from Trump's campaign coffers that she received before the 2016 election to keep quiet about their alleged affair.
The money was paid out by Trump's then-lawyer Michael Cohen in the 2016 election campaign, something he himself admitted and testified about.
The ex-president is suspected of having reimbursed Cohen for the outlay and booked it as campaign expenses. A violation of campaign funds rules.

The plan for Tuesday
On Tuesday, Trump plans to surrender to authorities in New York. But it will go anything but smoothly, believes former adviser David Urban.
- He will make a Trump. He will show up and he will be upset.
According to the more than 15 anonymous sources that the newspaper spoke to, Trump has already started dreaming about the pictures the police will take, so-called "mugshots". As well as how he can take full advantage of the opportunity to pump out his message in as many channels as possible.
- Nobody wants to be prosecuted, but if you are prosecuted, do you know how much that image is worth in a primary election campaign, for ads and for fundraising?, an anonymous source working with Trump's campaign told WP.

Collecting money
The prosecution has also proven to be a good deal so far. The very day after the indictment became known, an email was sent out to collect money for Trump's presidential election campaign. In the email, they ask for that one dollar donation to "cement their role in history" as fighters in the "witch hunt against Donald J. Trump." It seems to have paid off. In a press release sent out by the campaign staff, it is announced that they received four million dollars in the first 24 hours.
But while Donald Trump is eager to generate as much attention as possible on Tuesday and get his shots, his team of strategists have pleaded with him to make the trip as short and painless as possible. So far he seems to have listened to the advisers, but how it will actually turn out on Tuesday is unclear. Or as an anonymous source who was at the strategy meeting in Mar-a-Lago says:
- Trump is Trump.
