Heat record in Norway – 3.1 degrees above normal

December has so far been an unusually warm month in many places in northern Europe, including Norway. The average temperature has been 3.1 degrees above normal for this time of year. This is what climate scientist Jostein Mamen at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, who has been keeping track of the development, told Norwegian TV2.

In Bergen and Oslo, higher December temperatures have never been measured before, says meteorologist on duty Geir Otta Fagerlid to NTB.

– Many may head further north in the country to ensure a white and cold Christmas, but in the north it looks like there will be stormy weather, he says.

In several places in northern Norway, the avalanche risk is high, due to mild temperatures and heavy rain, writes TT.

The idea is that the Russian nuclear power plant will be able to supply the Russian lunar program and a joint Russian-Chinese research station with electricity.

Russia's ambitions are in principle in line with several other countries' plans for power stations on the moon that will in the future be able to supply space expeditions with electricity.

Black box found where Libyan army chief crashed

Turkish authorities have found the black box and voice recording from the private jet that crashed near Ankara on Tuesday evening, AFP reports.

Libyan army chief Mohammed al-Haddad and four of his colleagues were on the plane and died in the crash.

The plane, a Falcon 50, had requested an emergency landing due to an electrical fault shortly after takeoff, but then lost contact with air traffic control. An investigation has been launched and the analysis of the so-called black box could take several months, according to an expert the news agency spoke to.
