US carries out new attack in the Pacific – one dead

One person has died after the US military carried out another attack on a boat in the eastern Pacific, the military said according to CNN. This boat is also accused of smuggling drugs.

According to the Department of Defense, it is “a lethal kinetic attack on a low-profile vessel operated by terrorist organizations in international waters”.

At least 105 people have been killed in US attacks on boats in the Pacific and Caribbean Seas since September. The Trump administration accuses the boats of being involved in drug trafficking, but has not yet presented any evidence to support this. 

New law in Venezuela: 20 years for promoting blockades

Venezuela has introduced a new law that could result in up to 20 years in prison for people who promote blockades and piracy.

This comes after the US's attacks on alleged drug boats and after the country seized, and attempted to seize, oil tankers, Reuters reports.
