Maga distances himself from Carlson – but Trump listens
Right-wing activist Tucker Carlson received harsh criticism from several powerful voices in the Maga movement during the right-wing conference Americafest this week. But the most powerful voice of all, Donald Trump, is still listening to him, reports the Washington Post.
– I have never talked to him more often than I do now, Carlson tells the newspaper.
Since leaving Fox News, Tucker Carlson has approached conspiracists and right-wing extremists. His interview with Nick Fuentes, a famous white power debater, led to an outcry among profiles such as Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro.
JD Vance, who is seen as the most likely Republican presidential candidate in 2028, has stayed out of the fray. Carlson calls Vance “a friend” and his son Buckley is part of the vice president’s staff. In the interview, Tucker Carlson says that he does not make a big deal out of his friendship with Vance.
– The last thing I want to do is hurt him.

Employee at the Élysée Palace stole 40,000 euros
An employee at the French presidential residence, the Élysée Palace, has been arrested on suspicion of stealing silver and porcelain worth 40,000 euros, equivalent to 436,000 kronor. This is reported by the AP.
The man and two accomplices were arrested last week after trying to sell the items on auction sites such as Vinted.
The thefts were discovered when staff at the historic Sèvres porcelain factory, which has been owned by the French state since 1759 and supplies the Élysée Palace with porcelain, recognized the valuables online.
Police found over 100 items in the main suspect's home, car and wardrobe. In addition to Sèvres porcelain, a René Lalique statuette, Baccarat champagne glasses and copper saucepans were also found.

Three planes at risk when Musk rocket explodes
Three planes with a total of 450 people on board ended up in a vulnerable position when a Starship rocket from Elon Musk's Space X exploded during a test in January, according to a review by the Wall Street Journal.
The rocket exploded over the Caribbean Sea a few minutes after launch. For more than 50 minutes, burning debris from the rocket rained down, leading air traffic controllers to divert traffic to a special zone. Space X did not immediately report the explosion, and air traffic controllers were put in such a pressured situation that it posed an “extreme safety risk,” according to a report.
The three planes the newspaper examined, two passenger planes and a private jet, chose to fly through the exclusion zone because they otherwise risked running out of fuel.
“If you want to go to San Juan, it is at your own risk,” read a message from air traffic control to the crew of a Jet Blue flight from Boston to Puerto Rico.
All planes managed to land safely.
