Sweden criticizes US sanctions

The government criticizes the US decision to impose sanctions on two more judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC), writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD) on X.

"Sweden deeply regrets the US sanctions against two more judges at the ICC. Sanctions have a serious impact on the court's indispensable work to end impunity for the most serious international crimes," writes the UD.

The US sanctions were issued in support of Israel. The two affected judges voted against Israel's request to stop the ongoing investigation into war crimes during the Gaza war.
