Billions in aid for victims in Sudan

A long list of countries and organizations are pledging the equivalent of SEK 16 billion in emergency aid to war-torn Sudan.
After three years of civil war, the need for humanitarian aid is enormous in Sudan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres is urging the world to increase its aid efforts.
A small step was taken in Berlin on Wednesday, when international donors collectively pledged 1.5 billion euros, equivalent to 16 billion kronor, in aid, according to the conference's host, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
The number of people killed in the war is difficult to estimate; AFP describes it as "tens of thousands" while analysts have estimated it could be over 100,000.
Large areas are suffering from famine and, according to the Red Cross, around 13 million people have been forced to flee.
