Gahr Støre: Norway will not set an end date for oil
Norway will not set an end date when it comes to pumping up oil and gas. It is "strange" to set such a specific date, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in Ekot's Saturday interview.
- It depends on the demand for oil and gas [...] So we will probably see Norway as an oil and gas exporter for a few more decades.
The UN's climate panel IPCC calls on the world's countries to reduce their oil use - and quickly. Gahr Støre says that the overall trend is that Norway's energy production from oil and gas is decreasing, while production from renewable energy is increasing.
- But this does not happen overnight.
