Turkey after US talks: More Swedish steps are required Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu has today discussed Sweden's NATO membership with his American counterpart Antony Blinken, reports Reuters. 

- Sweden must take further steps for Turkey to ratify the application, he says.  

The conversation was held the day after Finland was formally admitted to NATO. Afterwards, US President Joe Biden urged Turkey to also let Sweden in as soon as possible.

Silvio Berlusconi receives intensive care Italy's former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi is in intensive care in a hospital in Milan, according to information provided to Reuters. According to the Italian news agency AGI, he is being treated in a cardiac unit.  

The 86-year-old has suffered many health problems in recent years and was most recently discharged from hospital last week. In 2016, he underwent heart surgery. He has also had prostate cancer, and has been hospitalized several times since contracting covid-19 three years ago
