Mayor in Australia threatens to sue Open AI
A mayor in Australia says he will sue the organization Open AI if it doesn't remove false claims made by the chatbot Chat GPT when asking questions about him. Reuters reports.
It is regional mayor Brian Hood who claims that Chat GPT wrongly singled him out as the culprit in a bribery scandal that occurred in the early 00s.
Hood's lawyers sent a letter to Open AI on March 21, giving the organization 28 days to fix the errors. According to the lawyers, Open AI has not yet responded to the letter. Open AI has also not responded to questions on the matter sent by Reuters.
If Hood goes ahead with suing Open AI, it will be the first time a private person sues Chat GPT as a result of claims generated by the chatbot, writes Reuters.

Google workers in London protested layoffs
About a hundred Google employees in London protested on Tuesday against the way Google handled the layoffs that were announced in January. Reuters reports.
According to the trade union Unite, Google has ignored the concerns of the employees, and is now calling on Google to obey its own wording about "not being evil". Unite wants to see that employees get proper union representation and that Google shows more respect for staff.
One of the employees at Google in London tells Reuters that the conversations with the company's management have been frustrating. At the same time, a spokesperson for Google believes that several constructive meetings have been held. Google also says it will try to be clear and provide updates on the situation as quickly as possible.

Roughly 100 people may leave Amazon's gaming departments
Amazon will fire "a little over 100" people from its gaming divisions Prime Gaming, Game Growth and Amazon Games San Diego. At the same time, parts of the remaining staff will receive new assignments that are more in line with the company's "strategic focus", writes the tech giant's gaming manager Christoph Hartmann in an internal message. Bloomberg reports.
Amazon does not go into the reasons behind the layoffs, but the company's investments in game development have not gone very well so far, writes Engadget.
