Expert: Submarines to the Black Sea red line for the west
Since the full-scale invasion began, the West has sharply stepped up military support for Ukraine. There are still red lines, however, says Lieutenant Colonel Johan Huovinen to DN.
Proposals have been raised for submarines to Ukraine, but Huovinen sees this as unrealistic given the risk of Russia withdrawing from the grain agreement.
- Everything that has to do with the Black Sea is extremely sensitive, nobody is willing to give ships to Ukraine.

Ukraine: Our peace plan is the only one that applies
The time for negotiations is over – Kyiv's peace plan is the only current one to end the war. This is what President Zelensky's top diplomatic adviser Ihor Zhovka told Reuters.
The statement comes after a number of countries in recent months have come up with their own proposed plans for how peace can be achieved.
- There cannot be a Brazilian peace plan, a Chinese peace plan or a South African peace plan when talking about the war in Ukraine, says Zjovka.
Ukraine will not lay down its arms if it means that Russia gets to keep some part of the occupied territories - a total withdrawal of Russian troops is the only thing acceptable, according to Zhovka.

EU summit: Russia will only negotiate if they win
EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell is "not optimistic" about the development of the Ukraine war during the summer, reports CNN.
- I see the troop concentration on both sides, I see Russia's clear intention to win the war, (Russia) will not negotiate if they do not win.
On Tuesday, President Zelenskyi's top diplomatic adviser Ihor Zhovka said that a Ukrainian peace plan that includes Russia withdrawing all troops and leaving the occupied territories is the only acceptable one.
Mychajlo Podoljak, also an adviser to Zelenskyi, writes that a peace plan should include a demilitarized zone of 100 to 120 kilometers in Russian regions bordering Ukraine.
