Putin: Russia replaces grain exports to Africa
Russia will replace the export of Ukrainian grain to Africa, says President Vladimir Putin. This after Russia last week stopped the agreement that secures Ukrainian grain exports on the Black Sea, AFP reports.
- Russia will continue its energetic efforts to supply grain, food products, fertilizers and other goods to Africa, Putin said in an official statement.
Among other things, the UN has warned that several countries risk starvation and death as a result of Russia's decision not to extend the agreement.

Zelenskyy demands an end to the grain import ban
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy demands that the EU stop the import ban imposed by five countries on Ukrainian grain. He says so in his daily video broadcast on Monday evening, AFP reports.
- An extension of the restrictions is absolutely unacceptable and frankly un-European, says Zelenskyj.
In May, the EU allowed Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia to ban the sale of several Ukrainian grains to protect their own agricultural sectors.
Zelenskyy demands that the ban be lifted by September 15 at the latest. Poland's prime minister has said that the country does not intend to lift the ban regardless of what the EU says, according to Reuters.
