Even Trump receives criticism: "Wild exaggeration and imagination"
Although President Joe Biden performed historically poorly in last night's debate, challenger Donald Trump wasn't much better. This is what Britain's former ambassador to the United States, Kim Darroch, tells Sky News.
Darroch noted, among other things, that Trump avoided answering questions about how he wants to steer the United States forward and instead spent the time praising himself, attacking Biden or lying.
- Every answer from Trump, if you listen hard enough, is a mixture of wild exaggeration and complete fantasy, says Darroch.

Assessor: Trump comes across as disciplined and witty
Donald Trump appeared disciplined and witty during the night's debate against Joe Biden, writes the BBC's Anthony Zurcher in an analysis.
"He avoided the kind of interruptions and belligerence that undermined his first debate in 2020, making sure to turn the discussion to attacks on Biden whenever possible."
At the same time, Zurcher and several other media point out that Trump repeatedly made false claims and outright lies. When the abortion issue was discussed, the ex-president claimed, for example, that the Democrats support the murder of newborns.
- But President Biden was not capable of punching holes in the lies in real time in a convincing way, says Henrietta Treyz, head of economic policy research at the consulting firm Veda Partners, to the New York Times.
Due to Biden's weak effort, Trump did not have to do much more than refrain from being himself for 90 minutes to win the debate, writes DN's Karin Eriksson.
"Donald Trump did not make a great effort. But none of the headlines this night in the United States are about Donald Trump," she writes.

Harris: It doesn't matter that Biden got off to a slow start
Vice President Kamala Harris admits that President Joe Biden got off to a "slow start" in tonight's debate against Donald Trump. However, he finished strongly, Harris believes.
She thinks voters should focus more on what Biden accomplished during the last term and less on his performance on the debate stage.
- It's three and a half years of performance that has been historic, says Harris to CNN.
The question of Biden's age was raised during the debate, whereupon the president pointed out that his opponent is only a few years younger than him but "much less competent."
