15 police officers and several civilians killed in the attack in Dagestan
More than 15 police officers and at least four civilians were killed in Sunday's suspected terrorist attacks in Russian Dagestan, says Governor Sergey Melikov.
- This is a tragic day for Dagestan and the entire country, he said in a statement published on Telegram early Monday morning, according to Reuters.
Among the civilian casualties is Nikolai Kotelnikov, priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in Derbent for over 40 years, according to the Moscow Times.
Six perpetrators have been killed, but no organization has yet claimed responsibility.

Suspected terrorist attacks on synagogues and churches in Russia - several dead
Several people have been killed in suspected terrorist attacks in the Russian sub-republic of Dagestan, several media report with reference to Russian authorities.
The authorities state that there were shootings at two Orthodox churches and a synagogue in the city of Derbent. About twelve miles away, in the republic's capital, Makhachkala, a police post has been shelled and a synagogue attacked.
Both synagogues are on fire, according to local officials quoted by AFP.
A priest, six police officers and four perpetrators have been killed, according to the authorities. In addition, at least twelve people are injured
