The new election in France
Macron: If the outer parties win, civil war awaits
If the parties at the far end of the political spectrum win this summer's snap election, there could be civil war in France. This is what the country's president Emmanuel Macron says in the podcast "Génération do it yourself", according to several media.
He says the far-right's response to the country's problems leads to insecurity, division and ultimately civil war. According to the president, the policy of the far left also leads to conflict, as it is anti-liberal.
- When we are tired of everything, when everyday life is hard, we can be tempted by extremes that have faster solutions. But the solution will never lie in rejecting the other, he says according to TT.

Princess Anne has lost her memory after a horse accident
Britain's Princess Anne, who is the sister of King Charles, fell off her horse on Sunday evening and injured her head. The Telegraph writes that the 73-year-old spent the night in hospital and that she has lost her memory but that the injuries are minor.
The court states that she feels much better on Monday and that her memory loss appears to be temporary.
It is not the first time Anne has lost her memory after a riding accident. While competing in the 1976 Olympics, she fell off her horse. After the accident, she said her memory of that day was "almost completely gone".
With King Charles and Princess Kate's cancer diagnoses, Anne has taken on more and more assignments. They will be postponed for at least the next week.

The Israel-Hamas war|The reactions
Israel's defense chief: Close to defeating Hamas in Rafah
The Hamas brigade in Rafah is soon defeated. This is what Israeli defense chief Herzi Halevi says, according to Reuters.
- It is clear that we are approaching a point where we can say that we have put the Rafah brigade out of action. We have not defeated them in the sense that there are no longer terrorists, but to the point that they can no longer function as a fighting unit, he said in a statement.
The comment comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday night that "the most intense phase" in Rafah was coming to an end. According to him, the forces are to be redistributed to Israel's northern border, where tensions with Lebanon and Hezbollah have increased for some time.
