Hamas: Israel has killed ten relatives of our leader
Hamas says that ten relatives of the terrorist sect's leader Ismail Haniyeh have been killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday, AFP reports.
- Ten people were martyred in the attack, including Zahr Haniyeh, who is the sister of Hamas's political leader Ismail Haniyeh, one of the Hamas spokespersons told the news agency.
He adds that the bodies are under rubble and that there is no equipment to exhume them.
The Israeli Defense Forces say they know the details of the attack, but cannot confirm it.

Unrwa: Ten children a day lose bones in Gaza
Every day, on average, ten children lose at least one leg in Gaza. This is stated by the UN's Palestinian Authority UNRWA according to AFP.
- Ten per day, that means around 2,000 children after over 260 days of this brutal war, says UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini.
He adds that the figure does not include children who lose arms or hands, and that amputations are often done entirely without anesthesia.
Israel has accused UNRWA of having employees with links to Hamas. However, in a report commissioned by the UN, it was determined that Israel has presented no evidence of this.

Source: Hamas-connected journalists are seen as a gray area
Journalists with links to Hamas are considered a gray area by the Israeli military IDF and can be interpreted as legitimate targets for attack. It is reported by The Guardian as part of a larger review of the situation of journalists in Gaza.
Of the more than 100 journalists who, according to the review, have been killed in Gaza since October 7, around 30 percent worked for media outlets controlled by or closely linked to Hamas. However, legal experts The Guardian spoke to agree that they still constitute civil cases.
- Reporting news is not a direct participation in the war. Even if they reported in an unvarnished way, even if they made propaganda for Hamas, even if Israel thinks fundamentally differently. It's not enough, says martial law professor Janina Dill at Oxford University.
A spokesperson for the IDF writes in a comment to The Guardian that they do not attack civilian targets, but that the Hamas-controlled media in Gaza "employs terrorists and offers them a front as journalists".

Over 100 journalists have been killed in Gaza: "The press vest poses a threat"
Over 100 Palestinian journalists have been killed in Gaza since October 7 last year. This is shown by an examination of the journalist network Forbidden Stories, which includes, among others, AFP, The Guardian and Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism.
14 are said to have been killed, injured or perceived as targets for attacks while wearing protective equipment that signals they belong to the press corps, according to the mapping.
- The press vest was meant to identify and protect us in agreement with international law, now it poses a threat, says journalist Basel Khair al-Din who believes he was the target of a drone attack while wearing his press vest.
Israel's military says in a comment that it "does not deliberately harm journalists".
- Several of the cases are in fact cases where militants have been killed, but reported as journalists, they say in a comment.
