Violent demonstrations have erupted outside Kenya's parliament in Nairobi in protest against criticized tax increases, international media reports.
The protests have been going on for weeks, but gained renewed force in connection with the fact that a decision connected to the tax increase was to be made on Tuesday. According to an activist group, several were injured during the day.
The government has called for calm, but critics believe that it is in fact behind the violence that has been used in connection with the protests.
