The opposition has succeeded in impeaching South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol, several media reports.
According to Reuters, the announcement means that the president is suspended from his duties. A constitutional court will then decide whether he should be formally fired.
According to AFP, Yoon Suk-Yeol vowed to "step aside" in a statement shortly after the vote.
The opposition has called for the president to be ousted after he imposed a short-lived military state of emergency earlier in December.

At least 200,000 people are expected to gather in the South Korean capital Seoul on Saturday to show their support for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-Yeol.
An earlier vote on it failed after Yoon Suk-Yeol's own party voted against it. However, it is enough for eight members to change sides for him to be removed - and seven have stated that they intend to do just that.
The opposition has called for the president's resignation after he declared a short-term military emergency earlier in December. The president has promised to "fight to the end".
