Hundreds released in Ukrainian-Russian prisoner exchange
Over 300 prisoners of war have been released in a Ukrainian-Russian prisoner exchange, reports the BBC. This is the result of negotiations led by the United Arab Emirates, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to Zelensky, the 189 Ukrainians who have returned home include soldiers who defended the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Civilians are also among those released.
“We are working to free everyone from Russian captivity. This is our goal. We do not forget anyone,” the Ukrainian president writes on X.

The Russians are now attacking the town of Kurakhove in the eastern Donetsk region from three different directions, writes the BBC.
