Trump opens up about shooting down "mysterious" drones
Donald Trump calls on the government to inform the public about what is behind the witness accounts of "mysterious drones" that have been reported in New Jersey in the United States in recent weeks. He writes that on Truth Social.
The president-elect suggests the outgoing administration knows more than it is admitting.
"And if not: Shoot them down!", he writes.
In a joint statement earlier this week, the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI said the majority of reported drones are likely to be regular aircraft.
Unknown drones over US military base in Germany
Unidentified drones have been seen above a US military base in Ramstein in Germany, several media reports.
The information, which initially reached the German media via sources within the country's military, has subsequently been confirmed by the US Air Force, writes Deutsche Welle.
There should be no suspicions of espionage, but the military is investigating where the drones come from.
The information comes at the same time as reports of suspicious drones in, among other places, New Jersey in the United States are pouring in. According to American authorities, in most cases these are completely ordinary aircraft.
