Trump suggests he has no intention of abandoning Ukraine

Donald Trump strongly opposes Ukraine using US-made weapons to strike deep inside Russian soil. He says this in Thursday's interview with Time, which named him person of the year.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he can broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours. In the interview with Time, he has changed his tone, and describes the situation as more complicated than the Middle East.

When asked whether he will abandon Ukraine or not, he answers:

- I want to reach an agreement, and you only reach an agreement by not abandoning.

Bezos donates millions to Trump and visits Mar-a-Lago

Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos plans to donate one million dollars to Donald Trump's presidential inauguration through his company, multiple sources told the Wall Street Journal.

In addition, the billionaire is scheduled to visit the president-elect at his luxury Mar-a-Lago residence next week, the sources said.

Trump and Bezos have previously had a dispute, among other things, because the Amazon founder owns the Washington Post newspaper. But now the atmosphere between them seems to have thawed. Bezos congratulated Trump on the election win and said as recently as December that he "looks bright" at the upcoming term.

LA Times owner shut down editorials with Trump criticism

LA Times owner Patrick Soon-Shiong has stopped an editorial in the newspaper that criticized Trump's choice of ministers. The New York Times writes.

Several sources at the LA Times say that Soon-Shionig demanded that the article, even though it "did not have a prominent left-wing perspective", should be supplemented with an editorial with the opposite perspective.

The editorial board instead chose not to publish the text.

Shortly before the election, Soon-Shiong also allegedly stopped an editorial that took a formal position for Kamala Harris. He has also suggested that the newspaper's news articles get an AI-controlled gauge of the objectivity of the text.
