Hundreds flee refugee camp after evacuation order
Hundreds are leaving the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank after an evacuation order from Israel, AFP reports.
“Hundreds have started leaving after the military urged people to evacuate through loudspeakers on cars and drones,” Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Ru told the news agency.
Ten people were killed on Thursday, Haaretz reports.
“We have heard threats to turn Jenin into Jabalaya,” a Fatah activist in the refugee camp told the newspaper, referring to a city in Gaza.
Israel’s military operation in the West Bank began on Tuesday. The goal is to “eradicate terrorism,” says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Akelius' orphanage in Gaza bombed: "Was destroyed"
Swedish real estate billionaire Roger Akelius's orphanage in the city of Rafah in Gaza has been bombed to pieces, Aftonbladet reports.
- I started crying. I was devastated for several hours when I found out, he tells the newspaper.
After an armed conflict in 2014, SOS Children's Villages contacted Akelius to ask if he wanted to help with humanitarian work. At that time, he gave a multi-million-kroner grant for the construction of an orphanage with space for 100 children.
On Tuesday, Akelius learned that that particular orphanage had been razed to the ground. No children were injured in the attack. Exactly when the house was bombed is unclear.
