Kremlin: There is no dialogue with Trump and his staff
Neither Donald Trump nor anyone in his administration has contacted the Kremlin regarding a meeting with Vladimir Putin. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov to Russian state media on Monday, according to AFP.
Donald Trump has long promised to quickly end the war in Ukraine. He has also opened up to meeting Putin soon to find a solution.
– The dialogue we have with Washington is carried out through the embassies, he says.

EU extends sanctions against Russia
The
EU is extending sanctions against Russia for another six months after
Hungary vetoed it in exchange for guarantees that ensure the country's
energy security. Reuters reports.
"Europe delivers. This will
continue to deprive Moscow of income to finance the war,” writes EU
foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas in a post on social media.
Officials
from several EU countries had warned of “huge consequences” if an
extension is not agreed before the January 31 deadline.
According
to TT, Hungary waived its veto on the promise that the EU Commission
will continue discussions with Ukraine and supplies of Russian gas and
oil to Europe.
