Elon Musk vs Europe
Spanish leader on Musk: “Incites hatred”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Wednesday attacked tech billionaire Elon Musk, Reuters reports.

– The international far-right that we have been fighting against in Spain for years, led in this case by the world’s richest man, openly attacks our institutions, incites hatred and supports the heirs of Nazism in Germany, Sanchez said during a speech.

Musk has recently spoken out critically of European leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He has also expressed support for the German far-right AfD party ahead of the new elections in February.

Earlier today, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot also called on the European Commission to protect its member states from external influence on the political debate, especially from Musk.

Azerbaijan Threatens Armenia: “Fascist State”

Armenia is a “fascist state” and poses a threat that must be destroyed. This is what the President of neighboring Azerbaijan, Ihlam Aliyev, said in a statement, according to Reuters.

Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought a series of wars since the 1980s. As recently as 2023, Azerbaijan regained control of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, forcing almost all of the area’s 100,000 Armenian residents to flee.

The two countries have been negotiating a formal peace for a long time, but the talks have reportedly been slow.

“Perhaps Baku is trying to create legitimacy for an escalation in the region,” says Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Presidential office denies rumors that Yoon has fled

South Korea's presidential office denies reports that suspended President Yoon Suk-Yeol has left his residence, reports the Yonhap news agency.

The statement comes after the head of the country's corruption prosecutors told the country's parliament that they could not say for sure that Yoon is there. The information has also led to the police keeping him under surveillance, a police source told the news agency.

Since he was stripped of presidential power on December 14, Yoon has stayed at his residence and refused to be arrested despite the arrest warrant issued against him.
