Sweden is prepared to send Jas Gripen to Ukraine to contribute with air surveillance after a peace agreement, says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson after a meeting in Paris.

– We will be part of a broader effort after a peace agreement. At that time, Sweden has said that we are prepared to contribute both with air surveillance in the form of Gripen aircraft as one of the countries contributing with capacity in the air, but also with mine clearance capacity in the Black Sea, says Kristersson.

He further says that Sweden will continue its efforts to train "soldiers and officers in Ukraine in the ambition to build a strong Ukrainian defense even after a peace agreement".

The Prime Minister is in Paris after a meeting between heads of state and government from around 30 countries, to discuss, among other things, security guarantees for Ukraine.

– I believe that today we took another step towards credible security guarantees for Ukraine. That is the most important conclusion from today's meeting, says Kristersson.
