Ukraine evacuates 3,000 children from frontline cities

Ukrainian authorities are forcibly evacuating 3,000 children and their parents from 44 cities and villages on the war front in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

“Due to the difficult security situation, the decision to forcibly evacuate was made,” writes Oleksiy Kuleba, the minister responsible for Ukraine’s reconstruction, on Telegram.

Evacuations are also underway in Chernihiv on the border with Belarus.

“A total of 150,000 people have been evacuated from the frontline to safer areas since June 1 (last year). Among them are nearly 18,000 children,” writes Kuleba.
