Swedish EU politician: Put pressure on China for weapons
Several Swedish EU parliamentarians believe that during today's summit with China, the EU should press for Beijing not to supply weapons to Russia, reports Europaportalen.
- Emmanuel Macron and Ursula von der Leyen should make it clear that under no circumstances will the EU accept that China supports Putin's war in Ukraine, says environmentalist Jakop Dalunde.
At the same time, all members surveyed think that the EU leaders should highlight the importance of human freedoms and rights when they meet Xi Jinping in China today. A balancing act that won't be easy, according to Christian Democrat David Lega.

New information: Finland in secret meeting with NATO the day after the invasion
The very day after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine last year, Finland announced to NATO that it was ready to become a member at short notice. This is what Dagens Nyheter's Mikael Holmström writes in a new edition of his book "The hidden alliance".
On February 25, 2022, a high-ranking Finnish representative will visit the NATO headquarters in Brussels and deliver his message. Prior to this, the country has long looked towards NATO and had diplomatic relations, writes DN.
- I think it is no coincidence that Finland raises its flag outside the NATO headquarters before Sweden, says Holmström.
