Viktor Orbán has sent a congratulatory letter to Putin
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulates Vladimir Putin after this weekend's Russian elections. This is reported by Reuters, which writes that the congratulations come despite experts and large parts of the world condemning it as a mock election with a predetermined outcome.
According to Hungarian government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs, the congratulation should have been made in a letter to the Kremlin. Orbán thus turns his back on international leaders such as China's Xi Jinping, North Korea's Kim Jong-Un and India's Narendra Modi.
According to Russia's election commission, Putin ultimately won with 87 percent of the vote.

Luís Montenegro becomes the new Prime Minister of Portugal
Luís Montenegro, leader of the Portuguese center/right coalition Democratic Alliance (AD), has been named the new Prime Minister of Portugal. On Wednesday evening, he was tasked by the country's president to try to form a government, several media write.
Montenegro must present its new government on April 2, but what it will look like is unclear.
AD has promised not to govern with the populist and far-right party Chega, which quadrupled its support in the election last weekend. To get a majority government, however, AD would need Chega's support, writes TT.
Montenegro and his party received the most votes in the Portuguese election with 29.5 percent.
