Violent protests in Israel against Netanyahu's government
Demonstrators and Israeli police clashed in connection with a large anti-government demonstration in Tel Aviv, reports Haaretz.
The demonstrators demanded, as in several previous protests, that new elections be held and that concrete measures to release the Israelis that Hamas has taken hostage be introduced.
During the protests, people have, among other things, blocked roads and gathered outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence in Jerusalem. The police responded with tear gas and water cannons, after which the protesters began lighting fires and blocking more roads. At least 16 people have been arrested.

Expert: Biden will not stop arms exports despite the pressure
American weapons continue to flow into Israel. This despite the fact that President Joe Biden has repeatedly pointed out against Benjamin Netanyahu's plans to invade Rafah and that a majority of the US population is against the support.
Stephen Zunes, a professor specializing in American policy towards Israel and Palestine, tells DN that the White House is likely to be pressured by the situation.
- Because they see the polls, they see the protests, they start to hear the opposition from the more left-wing Democrats, he says.
At the same time, he adds that it is unlikely that arms exports will be stopped as they have almost never been questioned in Congress.
On Friday, sources told the Washington Post that the White House approved sending 2,300 bombs to Israel. One of the sources then said that they will not condition the arms export.
