A rights group has documented 186 cases where the military or its allied militia burned people, in several cases children, to death. 22 beheadings have been documented. The events are described as "the tip of an iceberg".

New military exercises with Russia and Myanmar
The Russian military and Myanmar's junta are planning more than 50 joint exercises this year, Russian state media reports, according to Reuters.
Myanmar has been treated as a pariah by most of the West since the junta took power in a coup in 2021. Russia, on the other hand, supports the junta and contributes weapons, among other things.
In recent months, the military government has suffered heavy losses in battles against resistance groups that have begun to cooperate.
