The German aviation giant Lufthansa has reached a wage agreement with the union for the approximately 25,000 employees in the ground staff. As a result, there will be no airport strike during the Easter weekend, several media reports.
"We are very satisfied with the outcome," says union Verdi's negotiator Marvin Reschinsky, writes Die Welt.
The union had demanded a 12.5 percent wage increase. What the outcome was is not yet known, the newspaper writes further. The strikes have been ongoing for several months and the union had threatened another indefinite strike if an agreement could not be reached.

Swedish growth
A weak year awaits Swedish exports in 2024
Swedish exports will undoubtedly be negatively affected by an expected global slowdown this year. That's what Business Sweden writes in a recent market overview.
Compared to last year's increase of 3.7 percent, a weaker increase of 1.5 percent is expected in 2024.
Above all, service exports will be weaker compared to the strong outcome in recent years. Goods exports, on the other hand, are expected to gain momentum to a greater extent as the global economy recovers.
In September, the forecast was an increase of 1 percent, which means a change for the better.

The development of electric cars
Volvo Cars has produced its last diesel car
This week, Volvo Cars produced its last diesel-powered car. A historic shift as the company aims to phase out combustion engines and only manufacture electric cars by 2030, writes Bloomberg.
Yesterday evening, the last diesel model XC90 rolled off the production line at the factory in Torslanda. That in the middle of a global cooling market for electric cars.
However, the diesel cars will continue to be serviced by Volvo Cars and the company will continue to manufacture petrol-powered vehicles.
