Israel: Getting closer to "critical point" in Lebanon
Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says that Hezbollah's attacks against the country mean a "dangerous escalation" of the situation on the border between Israel and Lebanon, reports the Times of Israel.
- We believe in the diplomatic way. But Hezbollah's aggression is bringing us ever closer to a critical point for a decision on a military operation in Lebanon.
The terrorist-branded movement has intensified its attacks since Israel began its offensive against Gaza. Israel has responded with its own attacks against targets in Lebanon.

Russia: We monitor the Nordic military exercise
The Russian military is monitoring the NATO exercise Nordic Response with "all available means", says the country's Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksander Grushko, according to the state-run Russian Tass.
Russia's position is that such exercises are of a "demonstrational and provocative nature", he adds.
- All military exercises, especially in the border area, increase the risk of military incidents.
Nordic Response is held between 4 and 15 March and includes 20,000 soldiers, including 4,500 Swedish.

After Sweden: Hungary says no to Mark Rutte
As the last country to approve Sweden's NATO application, Hungary has now found something new to say no to within the alliance, writes AFP. This time it is about Dutch Mark Rutte, who has been singled out as the successor to Jens Stoltenberg.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto says it would be "bizarre" to approve Rutte as the new NATO leader.
- Of course, we cannot support the election to NATO's general secretary of a man who previously wanted to force Hungary to its knees, Szijjarto said at a press conference according to TT.
According to AFP, the Hungarian minister is referring to Rutte saying in 2021 that Hungary should not become part of the EU after the country pushed through a law banning information to minors about LGBTQ issues.
