Hot and wet - British spring breaks records
Since measuring average temperatures began in 1884 in Great Britain, it has never been as warm in May as this year. This is shown by the meteorological authority Met Office's preliminary average temperature, which ends up at 13.1 degrees, writes The Guardian.
But it wasn't any more sunny spring that met the British. It was also the rainiest spring since 1984.
Of the ten warmest Mays, eight have occurred since the turn of the millennium. The Met Office explanation for the warm weather is climate change.

Maldives protest: Will stop Israeli travelers
The Maldives, known for its luxury resorts, has decided to stop people with Israeli passports from entering, CNN reports.
Among the country's population, anger has grown against Israel's warfare in Gaza. Opposition parties and government partners have pressured President Mohamed Muizzu to act.
In response, Israel urges its residents not to visit the Maldives, and to consider leaving if already there.
"If any problem arises, it will be difficult for us to help," reads a statement from Israel's Foreign Ministry.
In 2023, about 11,000 Israelis visited the Maldives. The group makes up 0.6 percent of tourism.
It is not clear when the Maldives' ban on Israelis will come into effect.
