Putin's Russia
Sources: Putin's every meal is tested for poison in the lab
Russia has strengthened the already very strong protection around the country's President Vladimir Putin. Two security sources close to the Kremlin told the independent Moscow Times.
One of the sources stated that the Kremlin's preparedness was at an extremely high level since the assassination of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2022 and that the level was further increased after the assassination attempt on Slovakia's Robert Fico last month.
Officially, the Kremlin says it remains at the normal level, but according to the sources, personal protection is now a big part of every aspect of Putin's life. For example, all his target food is poison tested in a mobile laboratory.
- The Kremlin takes Vladimir Putin's security very seriously. He is protected by an entire army of visible and invisible guards, says one of the sources.

Political situation in Georgia
Georgia wants to ban "LGBTQ propaganda" with Russian copy
Georgia's ruling party Georgian Dream wants to ban what it calls "LGBTQ propaganda", AFP reports.
The bill is very similar to the Russian law that was enacted in 2013 and has since been used to oppress LGBTQ people. The Georgian proposal comes a little over a week after the heavily criticized "agent law" was approved, which was also a copy of a Russian law.
Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili claims that the law should protect minors and families from "propaganda for same-sex relations and incest".
Parliament, where Georgian Dream has a majority, will vote on the law this month.
