Bolivian President after the shootings: Violence should be condemned
Bolivia's government will launch an investigation into today's suspected assassination attempt against former president Evo Morales. That's according to the ruling president, Luis Arce, according to Reuters.
Morales himself has stated that the car he was traveling in was fired at with 14 shots. Morales, who is not said to have been injured, shortly after the incident singled out the government as responsible for the crime.
However, the president denies that they were involved.

An unknown assailant fired 14 shots at a car in which Bolivia's former president Evo Morales was traveling on Sunday. This is stated by Morales himself in a statement, according to ABC News.
The former president should be unharmed. The driver of the car reportedly received minor injuries.
In a clip originally shared by Evo Morales' daughter on X, blood is seen pouring from the back of the car's driver's head, while a voice urges Morales to "duck." What could be bullet holes can be seen in the car's windshield.
Morales singles out the government of his successor Luis Acre as responsible for the deed. Acre has not yet commented.
