Sources: Harris campaign doesn't want Biden's help
The Harris campaign does not appear to want President Joe Biden's help in the final days of the campaign, sources familiar with the matter told Axios.
People the newspaper has spoken to claim that Biden has repeatedly offered to take a break from presidential duties to campaign. From Harris's staff, however, Biden is said to have only received the answer "we will get back to you".
The Harris campaign has not commented on the data. Andrew Bates, spokesman for the White House, says that this is speculation that does not correspond to reality.
- We have close contacts with the campaign to determine when, where and how the president can be helpful.

Disclosure: LA Times endorsement of Harris halted over Gaza
The Los Angeles Times editorial board had decided to endorse Kamala Harris, but the decision was stopped earlier this week by the paper's owner Patrick Soon-Shiong.
Now his daughter Nika Soon-Shiong writes on X that the decision was due to the Biden administration's "support for the genocide in Gaza."
“This is not a vote for Donald Trump. This is a refusal to support a candidate who is involved in a war against children," she writes.
It is already clear that the owners of the LA Times stopped the editorial board's decision to express support for Harris, but no reasons have been given. Neither the newspaper nor its owner has confirmed Nika Soon-Shiong's information.

JD Vance: Trump wants NATO to be strong
Donald Trump has no plans to leave NATO, states his vice-president JD Vance in NBC's "Meet the press" on Sunday.
- Donald Trump wants NATO to be strong. He wants to remain in NATO. But he also wants the NATO countries to actually bear their share of the defense burden, says Vance.
Vance specifically singled out Germany as a country that needs to invest more in defense, and claimed that NATO currently "practically consists of the US, the UK and a few other countries".
