Elon Musk vs Europe

Task: Musk wants to get Starmer out before the next election

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has held talks with his inner circle about how British Prime Minister Keir Starmer can be removed before the British go to the next election, the Financial Times reports, citing sources.

Musk, who is a close ally of President-elect Donald Trump, is trying to find other ways than via the social media platform X to destabilize the Labour government.

– His view is that Western civilization itself is under threat, says a person with good insight.

Elon Musk has previously accused Starmer of being complicit in the “rape of Britain”. Starmer has dismissed the criticism as “lies and disinformation”.

Musk interviews German far-right candidate

On Thursday, Elon Musk will hold an interview with Alice Weidel, leader of the German right-wing nationalist party AfD, on his platform X.

Ahead of that, Politico has listed five things listeners should keep an eye on. Including that the conversation could become an unvarnished discussion about the state of Germany, the risk of technical glitches and whether it will have an effect on public opinion.

In December, Musk showed his support for the party in an X post where he wrote that “only the AfD can save Germany”. Although opinion polls have shown that the party has not benefited from Musk’s support, the news site writes that it can give legitimacy to the AfD.

Finally, they also mention that the interview could lead to legal consequences for the tech billionaire. The broadcast could potentially be considered an illegal donation in the form of “election advertising from a third party”, according to German law.

Germany is going to new elections in February and the AfD is currently the second largest in the country, according to opinion polls ahead.
