Elon Musk accused of Hitler salute at celebration

Elon Musk is accused of making a Nazi salute from the stage during the celebration of Donald Trump's inauguration at Capitol One Arena in Washington today, several media outlets report.

"Our new half-president Elon Musk just made a Nazi salute on Trump's first day," writes Democratic strategist Sawyer Hackett on X.

The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post writes that the salute appears to be a "Hitler salute" and reports that Musk is said to have repeated it three times.

- That salute was very reminiscent of things we have seen throughout history, says CNN's Kasie Hunt in the broadcast.

However, Musk's supporters point out that shortly before the gesture he said "with all my heart", and that the hand gesture in this case alluded to him throwing his heart to the audience.

Elon Musk has not yet commented publicly on the matter.

Israeli settlers burn Palestinian villages in protest against ceasefire

Israeli settlers have attacked at least three Palestinian villages in the occupied West Bank, residents and the Israeli military IDF said, according to the New York Times.

The settlers threw stones, fired slingshots and set houses and cars on fire, according to witness accounts and video clips verified by the New York Times. The riots were reportedly planned in WhatsApp groups on Sunday to protest the ceasefire.

The IDF said it had arrested two suspects and handed them over to the police. It is unclear whether they are the same two Israelis in their 20s who were reported injured after police stopped an attack on the village of Jinsafut, according to Israeli media. The two were shot by an Israeli police officer after attacking him, according to the public service channel Kan.

The riots were expected to be under control by 11 p.m. on Monday night, the IDF said, according to Haaretz.
