Trump releases secret documents on Kennedy and King

Donald Trump has signed a presidential order to release secret documents relating to the assassinations of John F Kennedy, Robert "Bobby" Kennedy, and Martin Luther King. This is reported by AFP.

No one has been convicted of the assassination of John F Kennedy. All three cases have been popular among conspiracy theorists for over 50 years.

Trump promised during his first term that the documents would be released. According to Bloomberg, he was then persuaded by the intelligence community, who asked him to leave the secret stamp on.

Panamanian: We will not run the canal for Trump

Many Panamanians do not give much thought to Donald Trump's threat to "take back" the Panama Canal. This is reported by NBC News.

The Senate approves Trump's choice to head the CIA

The Senate has approved John Ratcliffe as the new director of the CIA, several media outlets report.

Ratcliffe has been nominated by Trump and thus becomes the second member of Trump's cabinet to receive Senate approval. On Monday, Senator Marco Rubio was approved as Secretary of State, and on Thursday evening, Swedish time, a vote is expected on the proposed Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

The Senate is controlled by Republicans, but Trump's appointments have in several cases been controversial even within his own ranks.

Several of the world's richest people, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Tesla's Elon Musk, attended Donald Trump's inauguration on Monday.
