Hezbollah warns Israel – to be out by Sunday
On Sunday, all Israeli forces are to be out of Lebanon, according to the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah. Now the Shiite militia is warning Israel, writes Reuters:
“We will not accept any violations or attempts to evade the agreement under any pretext whatsoever,” the group wrote in a statement.
Israel has asked for a 30-day reprieve, claiming that Lebanon is not fulfilling its part of the agreement – the country’s army would take over Israeli posts in southern Lebanon, writes The Times of Israel. The IDF also continues to find weapons caches belonging to Hezbollah in the area where the group is no longer allowed to operate under the ceasefire agreement, according to army data.
Israel has killed more than 40 people since the ceasefire was signed on November 27, according to L’Orient Today. Sources from the committee monitoring the ceasefire tell the newspaper that the Israeli army has violated the agreement over 800 times.

Jenin residents forced to flee are arrested at roadblocks
Residents of Jenin in the West Bank say that the Israeli army forced them to flee – and then arrested or held them for hours at roadblocks. This is reported by Al Jazeera, which writes that this concerns men, women and children.
According to the Israeli army, the residents have been offered free passage during the offensive against terrorist groups in the area, without any coercion.
The many new roadblocks in the West Bank also pose a security problem for Israel, military sources tell Haaretz.
The roadblocks set up after the releases of Palestinian prisoners are consuming military manpower and causing traffic jams for several hours. This can cause “friction” both for the Palestinians and between Palestinians and settlers, the sources tell the newspaper.
