Right now: Trump signs many pardons tonight

Right now, Donald Trump is speaking at the Capitol One Arena in Washington, DC, where a large inauguration party has been going on during the day.

Trump says that immediately after the speech he will go to the White House and write pardons to “lots of people” after their involvement in the storming of the Capitol. He also says that he will sign 80 presidential decrees tonight, to change laws that he describes as “radical”.

The number of presidential decrees that Trump is to sign is many more than in 2017, when his only decree turned against the healthcare law known as “Obamacare”. According to information to Reuters, Trump will come forward with over 200 changes this time.

"WHO plays a crucial role in protecting the health and safety of the world's population, including Americans," the organization writes.

The US contributed a total of $1.3 billion to the WHO in 2022 and 2023, the news agency writes.

Zelenskyj: Will Trump even care about Europe?

Many countries are wondering what their relationship with the US will be like with Donald Trump in the White House. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, CNN reports.

While the US is an indispensable partner for Europe, it is not certain that the dependence is mutual, he reasons.

- Will President Trump even care about Europe? Zelenskyj asks himself.

The president also wonders if Trump sees NATO as necessary and claims that the new US administration is prioritizing the Middle East over Europe, writes AFP.

Zelenskyj calls for "a unified European security and defense policy" in which all European countries spend as much as necessary to guarantee peace.
