Political situation in the UK
One in three Labour voters want to poke Keir Starmer

More than a third of Labour voters believe the party has a better chance of winning the next election with a different leader than Prime Minister Keir Starmer. This is shown by a new poll referenced by The Independent.

38 percent believe that Labour's chances would improve, while 13 percent believe that a change of party leader would worsen the situation.

When interviewees are given a choice from a range of possible successors, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and former Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner are the most popular – two politicians who stand to the left of Starmer.

The US pays mini-country to receive migrants

The small island nation of Palau is to receive migrants from the US, writes the New York Times.

The countries have entered into a declaration of intent that means that 75 migrants, who cannot be deported to their home countries, will be sent to Palau. The United States will also invest the equivalent of about one million per person in the country.

Palau consists of 350 small islands in the Pacific Ocean and has only 18,000 inhabitants.
