IS men killed in Nigeria – US threatens new attacks

Last night's US attacks in Nigeria led to the killing of "several IS terrorists", writes the US Africa Command according to NPR.

President Donald Trump and his Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are simultaneously warning of more attacks.

"Merry Christmas to everyone, including the dead terrorists, who will be many more if the slaughter of Christians continues", writes Trump on Truth Social.

Trump has criticized Nigeria for months and claimed that a genocide of Christians is taking place in the country. According to the BBC, experts and human rights organizations state that Muslims and Christians in Nigeria are being killed at about the same rate, and that there is no evidence for Trump's claim. 

Trump: Has attacked IS terrorists in Nigeria

The US has carried out several attacks on targets in northwestern Nigeria linked to the Islamic State terrorist group, President Donald Trump stated in a post on his own platform Truth Social.

According to Trump, these are “multiple perfect attacks, which only the United States has the ability to carry out.”

“I have warned these terrorists that if they do not stop slaughtering Christians, they will pay dearly.”

A US source tells Reuters that the attacks were carried out at the request of the Nigerian government.
