Woman shot dead by ICE agent

A 37-year-old woman was shot dead by an ICE agent during an operation in Minneapolis.
The city's mayor, Jacob Frey, is furious.

The shooting took place on Wednesday morning when the US immigration agency ICE carried out an "operation linked to immigration".
A group of people reportedly blocked the path of the agents. The woman was in a car.
Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, says at a press conference that the agents' vehicle got stuck in a snowdrift. They tried to push the car out of the snow when the woman allegedly attacked and tried to run them over.
An agent then shot the woman in self-defense, according to the minister.
“Act of terrorism”
– It was an act of domestic terrorism, says Kristi Noem.
At the same time, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey holds a press conference with a different message.
There he strongly urged ICE to leave the city. He did not mince words about the agency and said that they are not in the city to create security,
– What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust. They are tearing families apart, causing chaos in the streets and in this case, literally killing people.
– We do not want you here.
White House: That pile of shit should be ashamed
The mayor's words were not received well in the White House.
“Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey says the heroes from ICE, who have removed hordes of criminals from the streets of Minneapolis, ‘are not there to create safety in the city.’ That pile of shit should be ashamed,” reads a statement from the White House.
Trump’s words: The radical left is threatening
Later in the evening, Donald Trump himself also spoke out on Truth Social. He writes that he has seen a video of the incident and that it was terrible to watch”.
He describes the woman’s behavior as violent and also believes that the ICE agent shot in self-defense.
“The situation is being studied in its entirety, but the reason these incidents occur is that the radical left threatens, attacks and targets our police officers and ICE agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do their job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE,” Trump wrote.
A major immigration operation is currently underway in Minneapolis. Around 2,000 ICE agents have been deployed there and in the twin city of St. Paul, according to the BBC.
