Trump's USA Greenland's future

Russian media mocks Denmark – compares Trump to Hitler

Russian state media happily reports on Trump's Greenland move, writes Danish TV2. The newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda compares Trump's plans to Adolf Hitler's annexation of Austria in 1938.

"Trump is preparing for a rapid Arctic 'anschluss'," the newspaper writes.

The development of events is described by pro-regime media in Russia as the beginning of the end for NATO and a movement towards a world where the great powers do not have to follow established rules.

"And who thinks that Denmark, this loud political dwarf, is a strong country?", writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

Vance tells Frederiksen on Fox News: "Not enough done"

The Europeans and the Danes have not done enough for Greenland and the Greenlanders, says US Vice President JD Vance in an interview with Fox News. Denmark has been one of the US's closest allies in the war on terrorism, but that does not affect Vance's attitude.

- Just because you did something well 25 years ago does not mean you can be stupid now, he says, adding that you have "not done well when it comes to Greenland”.

Vance emphasizes that Greenland would be central to the US in the event of a nuclear attack and that the island is “critical when it comes to missile defense”.

The Senate may vote to stop Trump on Greenland

Both Republican and Democratic senators expect the Senate to vote on legislation that limits President Donald Trump’s ability to conquer Greenland from Denmark, reports Reuters.

– You will see resolutions on war powers regarding Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Nigeria and Greenland, said Democratic Senator Tim Kaine at a press conference.

Kaine has previously led several resolutions to limit the president’s ability to intervene militarily without the support of Congress.

Republican Senator Rand Paul says that he does not know of any Republican colleague who is in favor of military intervention.

At the same time, Bloomberg reports that the team around the president is working hard to find different ways to tie Greenland closer to the US through deeper business partnerships. Next week, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with Danish representatives to discuss the Greenland issue.
